Eco-Friendly Fine Art

October 19th, 2008

Artist, Sandhi Schimmel Gold, describes herself as a rabid recycler. So, it was natural for her to commit to upcycling unusual resources to create her art. Look closely and you will notice her work incorporates pieces created from old menu items, junk mail postcards, business cards, old greeting cards as well as fashion magazines and cruise itineraries. Her specialty is portraits and she is open to taking on commissions. Interested in that perfect eco-friendly gift? Works start at $3.00 per square inch, with an $800.00 minimum.

Dishfunctional Designs - Makes you want to Break your Plates

From Pennsylvania artist, Laura Beth Love, gorgeous pendants, bracelets, charms and earrings created from recycled broken dishware. The necklaces with the added accent of recycled vintage flatware are my favorite. If you’re the type who can’t bear to toss Great Aunt Mabel’s cracked and chipped tea cup, you can send it to Laura Beth since custom work is available.
Priced around $50.00 for necklace and $60.00 for bracelet at Dishfunctional Designs
