This is the time of year when ghouls and goblins and mummys are a common site. But these aren’t your everyday mummys ..they are made out of a recycled metal cabinet! They are about 10 inches tall….perfect for creeping out the little treaters! The creator is artist, Elli Groninger…I’ve never met her, but I like her already….she teaches a class called “Crash and Burn REcycled Metal Scultpure” where her motto is “if you are NOT endangering your limbs, you’ve wasted your time!” That’s the Halloween spirit!
Mummys are available for $45.00 each at ElliGroninger’s Etsy Shop

I am totally hooked on finding artists who are making plush dolls or monsters out of recycled materials so I just LOVE Tracyville! Tracyville is Tracy Viverretta, a Portland OR artist who’s tagline is: nature conscious, recycled induced, handmade fortified. In addition to her wonderful 3d pieces, she is a beautiful illustrator embracing the recycled paper she draws upon.

Check out her plush toys on this blog: http://traceomatic.blogspot.com/, lots of artwork on this blog: http://tracyville.blogspot.com/ and her work is for sale on Zibbet (an Etsy clone) at http://www.zibbet.com/tracyvart More stuff on: Flickr and Facebook
