Recycled Textiles – Zafus Zabutons Crescents

collectcanyon.jpg
I’m not saying that these will give your inner peace, but meditating on a cushion made from recycled textiles can only increase your karma. Created from recycled clothing including bluejeans, khakis, wool suits and felted wool sweaters, each cushion is handmade and just a little bit different. Great designs are available filled with your choice of kapok fiber or buckwheat hulls.
$74.00 for Zafu, $74.00 for Crescent and $72.00 for Zabuton at Mythic Yarns

Mythic Yarns Recycled Textiles is a small workshop with a large vision. They see it as their job to serve the Fabric of Life – laundering, dying, and sewing, along with rummaging and rescuing fabric thought to be useless while being committed to creating textile goods as useful as they are beautiful.

CAUTION: Read comments below before ordering from Mythic Yarns

DO NOT ORDER FROM MYTHIC YARNS!

I order four zaffus from Mythic Yarns and they were never delivered. When I attempted to contact the company by email, I never received a response. When I tried by telephone, I got an answering machine that was full and not taking any more messages. When I filed a complaint with Paypal, with which I paid for the transaction, I was informed that I was screwed because the seller had already withdrawn the money from their Paypal account.

Do not purchase anything from them!

I placed an order for a zabuton, zafu and shawl in December of 2007 from Mythic Yarns and have not received any of these items. I have made numerous attempts to contact Mythic Yarns by email and have received no response to my inquiries. I have also made numerous phone calls and have only received a recorded message which says, “Mailbox is full.”

There is no notification on Mythic Yarn’s website to indicate that there is any problem with the company. I first learned about Mythic Yarns through an an that appeared in Shambala magazine and so thought they were a credible company.

It’s downright unjust for a company to promote itself in the way that Mythic Yarns does and then to steal a lot of money from unsuspecting people. Why does Great Green Goods promote this company? Why does Shambala magazine run their ads? Why do the folks who run Mythic Yarns think it’s ok to betray the trust of other human beings? Why do they steal money from people?

I would advise folks TO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY unless you wish to simply throw away your money.

I’ve written to Mythic Yarns to request an explanation for what is going on. If I don’t hear from them by end of business day on Monday, I will edit this post to reflect your concerns. I found out about Mythic Yarns from Shambala magazine and they seemed to have a very eco-conscious mission.

Thanks for alerting us to the issues.

Hi, I ordered a zafu and zabuton from Mythic Yarns in the fall of 2007 and received them without a problem within 2-3 days of placing my order. I just went online to order several more for my acupuncture clinic and saw that their website is temporarily down. I was dismayed to read the other comments. I hope that they are just having a few problems and will get back on track and a least return your money or at least send the products. I LOVE their meditation cushions and will be sorry if they are going out of business.

I had the same experience. I tried to order from Mythic Yarns after seeing their add in Shambala magazine. I did not receive the products and did not receive a response to many many emails. I called A LOT and got the same full voicemail. I did get ahold of someone once, a gruff sounding man who answered, “Hello?” in a distracted way—I thought I had misdialed and gotten someone’s cell phone. Anyway, when I asked if this was Mythic Yarns he said it was. He assured me that he would send out my invoice immediately. Never heard from them again. I filed a complaint on PayPal and won, but like the person above, they had already withdrawn the money so I was not reimbursed. I notified Shambala magazine’s ad department about this right away, and haven’t seen their ads in there again. AVOID THIS COMPANY MYTHIC YARNS IS A FRAUD!
