I noticed the wasteful packaging too. and Since they are made from old newspaper, shouldn't they be cheaper then wood ones? In a horrible economy like this companies that use recycled things need to start making green more affordable. Paying more for recycled crap doesn't make much since to me.

OVERPACKAGING EACH PENCIL IN TOTALLY WASTEFUL PLASTIC TUBES. So much for being Green. They're made in China, probably from Recycled Rice Paper, not saving to many trees there. I just hope they're really non-toxic.

I totally LOVE your pencils and the scents they come in are amazing...but i think that the plastic they come in is NOT a good idea. You might be saving trees, but the plastic isnt environmentaly friendly. You should try making the containers out of something else recycled.Trust me more "tree huggers" will buy! :]

Don't feel so comfortable with this product. First, covering the recycled newspaper pencil in dioxin based plastic is ridiculous. If we are going to be recycled and environmental - how can we support the plastic cover wrap. This is so uncool. We need to provide our kids with better examples and products. Try using O'BON newspaper pencils. They are recycled, newspaper pencils but with great graphics - and a recycled paper box. See them at http://www.stationery-obon.com
